Following a period of continual growth, Evros Technology Group are looking for an enterprise level Database Architect (SQL) to support our client database estate and deliver architecture and design consultancy.
This is an exciting opportunity to be responsible for the design, modelling and architecture of database support services as well as consultancy to our client base, reporting directly to the Technical Delivery manager.
What you will do
- You will work in our Architecture and Service Design team
- Create and improve scalable service offerings to delivery proactive and reactive service to our clients.
- Identify areas for improvement with respect to database architecture, and work on bringing these to a production-ready state.
- Utilise programming skills to retrieve, analyse and process data.
- Participate in some application side reviews, with respect to database connectivity and performance tuning recommendations of the application and underlying OS.
- You will review, optimise, and approve stored procs created by other development teams before production releases.
Technologies:
Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, TQL, backup, DR, tuning, clustering, mirroring, replication & security.
Who you are.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics or similar.
- 10+ years' experience in database analysis.
- Strong understanding of application performance testing and performance engineering.
- Technical DBA who understands and has a proven track record of utilizing in-memory DB tables and a deep understanding of BC/DR.
- Database knowledge and expertise in MSSQL; experience with other RDMS such as NoSQL, MySQL or Oracle is a plus.
- Experience with cloud database services is required, implementing HA databases in the cloud as well PAAS configuration and performance troubleshooting.
- Ideally have a programming background to assist with code reviews during testing.
- Proven skills with large distributed systems such as large-scale distributed database systems, geographically dispersed transaction processing, or horizontally scaled request processing systems.
- Ability to advise when to implement partitioning, can read database diagnostics, KPI's and make corrections and tune performance on these criteria.
- Advise on monitoring and alerting thresholds for database health and performance.
