itContracting are currently seeking applicants on behalf of our client, a well-known Irish brand in the retail and fashion industry, for a UX/UI Designer. This is a permanent position based with our client in Dublin.
The UX/UI Designer will be responsible for delivering the best online user experience, which makes the role extremely important for our client’s current and future successes, and ensuring customer satisfaction and retention. Working to tight, reactive internal and external deadlines means rapid production, review and iteration for any new designs or update is a critical part of this role. Working with our client’s newly formed Digital IT Platform Team, the core strategic activity for this role is to complement, augment, benchmark and interpret research to create enriched and exciting brand and user design experiences for our client’s core users and category needs. This role supports identification of UX/UI and flow design challenges to propose and devise elegant solutions to support strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, new functions and features.
Retail experience is not essential but very beneficial for this position, along with ecommerce experience and involvement with digital products relating to innovative websites and/or applications.
Responsibilities:
- Proven UX improvements/ conversion tactics through optimized journeys to support a variation of experiences
- Demonstrate how to strike a rationale balance between continuously improving site features and understanding business and trading needs
- Ensure an engaging and visually memorable and exciting brand experience, measured by monthly survey results/ customer feedback
- Drive CTR from intuitive UX and UI solutions
- Work within the Digital IT Platform Team to design, develop and review feature solutions and performance post release
- Create UX solutions and UI designs to support task requirements with stakeholders on expected results both on a design, intention, and interaction-design basis
- Translate customer needs through from interpretation to concepts to wireframes
- Develop visual or interactive mock-ups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences
- Facilitate internal visions for existing or new site features through research, benchmarking, site analysis, prototyping and mock-ups
- Responsible for FE and UX flow review of technical updates delivered to the platforms
- Iterations on existing site experiences or new feature design based on data from the Digital IT Platform Team, analytics technology or best practise
Requirements:
- 3+ years’ experience working in a similar UX/UI Design or Product Design role
- Ecommerce experience very beneficial
- Retail knowledge preferable
- Agile/ Scrum environment experience
- Understanding of build, deployment methods and use of various repository environments and database technology
- Awareness of development trends and innovations, code and technologies around same
- Experience with a variety of design and prototyping tools including (but not limited to); Adobe XD, Figma, Miro, Sketch, Invision
- Experience with front-end development and deployment software including (but not limited to); HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery libraries, debugging tools
- Strong understanding of best practice build SEO techniques and implementation via HTML and partner technologies.
- Understanding of UX and UI testing and behavioural analysis methods and toolkits to hypothesis and inform design solutions
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with an ability to manage a wide range of stakeholders and feedback
