About the Software Engineer role:
My Client has a Global presence as a leading provider of psychometric testing software, and is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Software Engineer to join the team. The successful candidate will work alongside Senior developer’s in an agile environment to develop and maintain existing platforms.
Ideal candidates will have experience in designing, developing and maintaining software applications and services written in languages such as C# .NET and JavaScript. This includes, but is not limited to, web front-end user interfaces, middle tier components/services, data interfaces and database applications

Responsibilities of the Software Engineer role:
• Module design and documentation, working with business analysts and architects
• Deliver on programming assignments
• Develop unit tests and test tools
• Participate in software code reviews and process improvements
• Integration testing and interaction with quality control and deployment teams
• Process improvement & test automation
• Support junior developers on team
Required Qualifications and Experience for the Software Engineer role:
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field or combination of relevant skills and education
• 2-5 years professional object-oriented programming experience in C#
• Experience of Microsoft IDE, APS.NET, MVC, WCF, WPF
• Web application development – web services, javascript and CSS
• Experience of standard development practices and lifecycles
• Experience of data modeling , database fundamentals, entity framework/ADO
• Good communication skills, both oral and written.
• Experience in a SOA environment, REST APIs
• Design concepts/Patterns
Desired Skills for the Software Engineer role:
• Hadoop application development, including SPARK, R
• Performance tuning, optimization skills
• Experience of Microsoft ALM - Team foundation Service
• Security fundamentals, Penetration Prevention
• PCI and/or FISMA (or similar) compliance standards preferred
