BI Consultant/Data Scientist
My Client is a globally recognised financial organization that provides financial services and products to consumers, corporations and many other institutions internationally. They are currently seeking a BI Consultant/Data Scientist to join their growing Dublin team. Responsibilities for the BI Consultant/Data Scientist role:
• Maintaining existing procedures:
• For UTDU project:
• Maintains KNIME workflow
• Maintains Shiny Dashboard
• Handles any change requests
• For D2R2 project:
• Provides user and operational support of applications to business users
• Maintains R code
• Works together with SME and Technology partners to include more products
• Ensures the data quality of the automated process
• Participates in the data modelling process.
• Contributing to automation projects throughout all phases of the project lifecycle e.g. Requirements Specification, UAT Testing & Sign Off, Rollout and Postproduction Checkouts
• Conducts strategic data analysis, identifies insights and implications and make strategic recommendations, develops data displays that clearly communicate complex analysis
• Delivers analytics initiatives to address business problems with the ability to determine data required, assess time & effort required and establish a project plan
• Consults with users and clients to solve complex system issues/problems through in-depth evaluation of business processes, systems and industry standards; recommends solutions
• Impacts the business directly by ensuring the quality of work provided by self and others; impacts own team and closely related work teams
• Considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment; identifies and communicates risks and impacts
• Drives communication between business leaders and Technology Teams; exhibits sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills to exchange complex information
Required Skills and Experience for the BI Consultant/Data Scientist role:
• 2-5 years’ experience using tools for statistical modelling of large data set
• Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Social Science, Mathematics, Applied Math, Economics or Data Science related qualifications
• Proficient in R
• Ability to effectively use complex analytical, interpretive and problem-solving techniques
• Ability to work independently, multi-task and take ownership of projects and change initiatives
• Analytical, flexible, team-oriented and has good interpersonal/communication skills
• Demonstrated influencing, facilitation and partnering skills
Desirable Skills and Experience for the BI Consultant/Data Scientist role:
• KNIME,
• Shiny,
• Version-control system (e.g. Git)
• Microsoft Excel, Formulas, VBA
