itContracting are currently seeking applicants for a HCI Security Engineer. This is a 6-month daily-rate contract position based onsite with our client in Cork.
Our client requires a HCI Security Engineer to secure and protect their IT environment, infrastructure and transition, which comprises a Dell VxRail hyper-converged infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and implementing a comprehensive, unified IT security approach that will protect our client’s resources at the control plane, data plane and management plane.
Responsibilities:
- Identify possible issues and assess potential solutions
- Improve the usability of IT security features in end user applications
- Protect the control, data and management planes
- Put in place security mechanisms flexible enough to evolve as the platform itself evolves
- Update and maintain industry best practice security policies and standards for our client’s IT department to comply with
- Encryption and maintenance of our client’s HCI platform (Dell VxRail)
- Intrusion detection system management and configuration
Requirements:
- 3+ years relevant experience working in similar IT security roles
- Vendor qualifications i.e. Checkpoint, Cisco, Palo Alto etc.
- Experience working with HCI environments e.g. VMWare vSAN, VxRail HCI
- Experience designing and implementing effective IT security processes and procedures
- Ability to work with other dedicated IT teams
- Ability to describe complex technical procedures in a manner that is easily understandable by non-technical end users
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Candidates must be eligible to work in Ireland or currently hold a Stamp 4 Visa to apply.
