Python Engineer
The Role
My client delivers analytical tools to clients in the Financial Services industry to help them understand and predict complex risks related to regulatory activities worldwide. They are seeking a Python Engineer to contribute to the development of a new generation of cloud-based analytical products in the area of financial regulatory risk. Product Engineering is fast paced with rapid product evolution using an agile Continuous Delivery approach.
Responsibilities of the Python Engineer Role:
• Actively engage in solution design with Business and Technical representatives
• Work without close supervision to deliver high quality software through the full development lifecycle.
• Focus on provable code quality in support of a continuous delivery methodology.
• Have an awareness of requirements, constraints, and general Devops relating to deploying cloud-based applications
• Assess the impact of changes on existing products, for example API changes.
• Planning and estimation of tasks as part of the SCRUM team.
• Implement solutions as per technical design for new features and changes to existing components.
• Perform code reviews and testing as needed to ensure high quality deliverables.
• Set and deliver the highest standards of achievement, demanding the same from all team members.
Required Skills and Experience for the Python Engineer Role:
• 5+ years’ experience in comparable business/technical/product environments
• Reasonable Linux knowledge
• Proficiency in Python
• proficiency in cloud-based development, devops, operations
• Must have Technologies – Python 3, HTML, SQL, GIT
• Web scraping experience would be an advantage
• Experience of configuring cloud environments: Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon AWS
• Modern and agile Devops
