Our client, one of the worlds leading insurance companies, is looking for a java developer on a contract basis. This is a long term rolling contract where you will work in a team alongside experienced developers. This company is constantly growing. They have a brand new, state of the art building in Waterford. This office is the European development center where all development and programming is done for their clients in North America. There is a strong focus on technology here. Essentially this office is a major tech hub.
You will get the chance to develop brand new applications and have a say and opinion on what happens. This office is data driven and they have a huge drive to push the business forward.
Role Responsibilities:
– Design and code programs of a complex nature using standard procedures and techniques
– Convert business specifications into application programs
– Produce technical documentation
– Work with system designer, application developer and business systems analyst, QA
– Participate in requirement and design walkthroughs
– Participate in post implementation reviews to maximize and share learning
Required Skills:
– 3+ Years professional experience developing enterprise level web applications
– Java J2EE, JavaScript, XML, UNIX, HTML
– Experience with relational DBMS, SQL
– Experience with tools and techniques for application testing
– Knowledge of formal application development life cycle methodology
– Good analytical skills; able to assess alternatives, risks and benefits
– Good oral and written communication skills
– Motivated self-learner with a desire to keep abreast of technology trends
Daily Rate: €350-€400
