Systems Administrator
itContracting are pleased to be partnering with our Client, one of Ireland's most well known and successful indigenous companies, in the hiring of an experienced Systems Administrator to work within their primarily Windows based environment, managing key infrastructure and applications. This is a permanent position based in South Dublin.
You will be involved in the management and administration of the overall company infrastructure, managing medium to large scale projects, maintaining effective and efficient documentation and continuous improvement of company standards and infrastructure, as well as providing adaptive and proactive support to the end-user base across several sites.
You should be capable of quickly analysing issues, providing troubleshooting expertise and working with end-users, management and executive Board level employees to address and resolve issues, where and when needed.
This role requires and individual who is adaptable, quick thinking, able to prioritise and re-prioritise quickly and efficiently in response to fast changing company needs and be exceptionally organised and able to work independently and be self-directed as required.
Experience:
* A minimum of 5 years in a Systems Administration and/or Engineering capacity in a Windows environment managing large infrastructure and a significant user base, ideally in an FMCG, manufacturing or other highly regulated environment
* Experienced in administration and management of physical and virtual server environments running Windows and VMware
* Excellent experience administrating users through Active Directory, including set-up and administration of Groups, administration of Group Policy and management of DHCP and DNS
* Strong working knowledge of VMware vSphere
* Good working experience of SQL server and SQL based databases
* Good overall understanding and knowledge of Networking, including TCP/IP, routing and switching, LAN/WAN and VPNs
* Overall experience supporting various business critical applications
* Good understanding of SAN technologies
* Ideally educated to 3rd level in a Technical discipline, or equivalent certifications, diplomas or experience
* Ideally certified in Microsoft and/or VMware technologies
