Linux Operations Engineer - Dublin CC
I'm currently working with one of the worlds fastest growing Tech companies as they look to build out a brand new team in Dublin city centre. They have recently opened their new office and are hiring in multiple different engineering departments, but my focus is on finding the first hire for their Linux Operations Engineering team.
You will join a team of 15 spread across 3 geographical locations and be the first person hired here in Ireland to help build out their function here. This role will be standalone in Dublin but you will have other teams such as Hardware Support and Site Reliability to work with closely and provide extra support.
This role will not be customer facing in itself but you will interact closely with the customer support team and work to provide solutions for issues which they need to solve for enterprise customers.
One of the key things my client is looking for is engineer who can demonstrate examples of how they've gone outside of their daily routine to improve process in their organisation. Maybe you have written a script to automate process and cut down and day to day repetition. Or perhaps you've improved methods of communication across multiple teams to improve productivity. Any big achievements such as that are hugely valuable to the way my client's staff choose to work!
Desired Skills/Experience:
* Extensive Linux Engineering experience (Centos preferred).
* Strong network troubleshooting skills (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
* Strong server troubleshooting experience.
* Experience working in operations at Linux command line level.
* Experience troubleshooting Cisco/Juniper highly desirable.
