This exciting opportunity has arisen with a leading financial organisation, they require a junior Java Developer to come on board to learn and enhance their Java capability in this exciting long-term opportunity. This person will have a strong fundamental understanding of java ideally and have the desire to grow their skills on this global operating project. 

Key Responsibilities
 

• This exciting project requires an enthusiastic and keen Junior Java Developer to work with a large team on their global financial products and new features or their operating platform.
• This person with guidance and training, will have a base knowledge of development and work in a holistic set of services and tooling in a Java Environment.
• Work on a cross-functional and globally distributed team to make development tooling efficient  

Key Skills

• Strong Junior developer with any development exposure for up to 1 – 2 years plus for a good foundation, fundamentally exposure with Java will be highly desired
• An understanding of how to develop and test applications and components using Java and the Spring Framework would be helpful
• Ensure quality of multiple codebases and alignment with development standards
• Work iteratively to develop and ship features at a regular cadence
• Ability to write clean and DRY code
• Experience writing automated unit tests – not essential, only desirable
• Experience with tooling in the Java ecosystem such as Maven or Gradle – not essential, only desirable
• Strong desire to learn and work with a diverse set of programming languages and technologies
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery practices
• Basic understanding of HTTP and some exposure to building Restful Web Services – not essential, only desirable
