End User Computing (EUC) Consultant Engineer (EUC Professional Services Consultant)
Evros Technology Group are seeking applications for an IT consultant with experience of large scale Desktop and Application virtualisation project delivery.
The job will entail:
* The detailed design and deployment of large scale VMware Horizon and Citrix technology projects.
* A capability to understand and integrate these solution with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Profile management solutions is also required.
* The primary area of technology focus is VMware Horizon View with a similar capability on Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop being a distinct advantage.
This is a Senior Engineering role and the candidate will be expected to be adept at, Customer engagement, requirements definition, as well as hands on solution delivery capability.
Overview The Consultant will work as a senior member of the Evros Professional Services team.
* As a Subject Matter Expert in the area of Desktop and Application Virtualisation, particularly leveraging VMware Horizon Suite of products.
* Gathering Customer requirements and mapping them closely to a solution
* Documenting Low Level Designs and Build documentation
* Technical implementation of solution on customer premise and or via remote working
* Working within a delivery team in a collaborative manner and leading or influencing team members to ensure best practice solution delivery
* Work as an escalation point for critical customer issues in this technology area. This may require being part of an on-call rota.
* Keep up to date with current technology trends, attending, training, seminars, tech conferences
Technical Skills Required
* Expert level on VMware Horizon
* Expert level on Desktop and Application Virtualisation design and implementation
* Expert Level on Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, User profile management
* Good Knowledge of Microsoft Server and Desktop OS
* Good Knowledge of IT Security Best Practice and Security Solutions
* Good Knowledge of IT networking in particular as it pertains to this solution area with regard to, Load Balancers, Access Gateways, connection Servers etc.
* Good Knowledge of the supporting ecosystem of solution for Desktop virtualisation such as, Anti-Virus solution, Print Management, Profile Management, Load Testing, Performance Management
* A history of Large Project deployment Experience
* Some knowledge or experience of the following would be an advantage
* Citrix XenDesktop, XenApp, Netscaler
* Airwatch MDM
* IT Management Tools
* Microsoft SCCM
* VMware NSX
* Project Management
Educational Requirements
* Technical Certificate /Diploma/Degree or equivalent experience
* Desire for continued learning - self-motivated to keep abreast of the latest technology offerings.
Interpersonal Skills
* Strong Communicator
* Strong customer facing experience with an ability to articulate complex information to a mixed audience from Technical to CXO level
* Self-Managing - have the ability to manage expectations of internal and external customers of the professional Services dept. Deliver against deadlines and identify when additional help and resources are required
