Our financial services client is currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to Manage the Reinsurance Stream. 

We require an experienced PM who will roll up their sleeves on the project. Insurance experience and knowledge will be key as this PM will manage the Reinsurance stream

Job Description:

Role & Responsibilities:

•Negotiate & agree project priorities & major deliverables at IT management level and where relevant to the wider IT and Business community.
•Contribute to and follow processes and standards for the effective and efficient delivery of projects.
•Plan, track & manage diverse project components to ensure overall technical solutions are delivered on time & to budget.
•Resource manage relevant experts to define & deliver individual projects to meet goals, time-scale & budget.
•Liaise with business managers to define needs, negotiate resources and manage expectations
•Report to management (IT and business) on project progress/risk/issues
•Work with suppliers to ensure ongoing delivery of high quality, cost-effective project deliverables
•Manage the budgets, scope and resources for all assigned projects
•Set up project governance structures according to team standards for all assigned projects. (Project charters, project plans, relevant sign-off’s etc.)
•Lead the design, development, test and implementation of the requirements
•Document all designs and implementation related information
•Manage re-engineering of any processes impacted by the project
•Manage organisational changes arising from the design, ensuring buy-in and commitment from all stakeholders
•Order and manage delivery of all key project items, ensuring expense and capital is appropriately managed.
•Apply sound project management standards and procedures to ensure quality, timely, on budget delivery.

Role:

Skills & Experience:

•5+ years experience managing complex IT projects in the Financial Services industry
•Multinational / Multi jurisdiction project experience
•Gathering requirements / negotiations on scope
•Change Management experience / training program development
•Financial Services experience / regulated environment in the financial sector
•B2B / B2C project experience in a Java / Oracle backend stack technology stack
•Exposure to SQL querying capability
•Agile / SDLC experience
•Strong understanding of the fundamentals of Service Management disciplines
•Strong understanding of Supplier Management process
•Proven experience in managing long term high profile supplier contracts
•Proven experience delivering projects across different streams including business change and application development projects.
•Proven experience of working with cross functional and international teams
•Excellent communication skills – ability to communicate cross businesses and functions
•Ability to manage resource conflicts and plan accordingly to avoid failure of delivery
•Manage external resources to ensure successful project delivery
•Good awareness of general IT controls and the application of them.
•Ability to work independently and take responsibility for delivery of project outcomes
•Strong project management skills: use of structured, formal methods
•Ability to manage projects across Applications/Technical Service Streams
•People management skills

Desired:

•Knowledge of business processes (change) management, including but not limited to call centre environments
•Knowledge in Agile framework with an ability to extend that knowledge to IT’s delivery team.
•Understanding of ITIL methodology and processes
•Certified in an a recognised project management methodology (Prince 2 or PMI)
•Experience of leading a small team of resources, either contract or FTE

Salary: 400 to 450 daily rate contract
