The Cork facility is one of several Snap-on global engineering sites and employs over 70 development professionals. The team is responsible for the development of a wide range of software including the development of user interface and user experiences for applications in a Windows environment for use by automotive diagnostics professionals.
Job Description
Implement, manage and maintain hardware (Network/Telecoms/Servers) equipment for the Snap-on Cork Diagnostics Office – liaise with and help resolve hardware/software issues for Snap-on associate users. Identify and resolve inter site business partner issues. Work in concert with divisional IT personnel to promote and support IT strategies.
Essential Skills Required:
Degree in computer engineering or science or equivalent work experience, or working towards a Bachelor’s degree.
CCNA or equivalent Skills
3 + year’s industry experience
Intermediate to advanced understanding of computer engineering principles.
Intermediate understanding of server virtualisation technologies i.e. HyperV or VMWare
The following skills are not essential, but desirable:
Experience on Disaster recovery process and planning.
Experience with Veeam backup technology.
Successful Candidates Roles and Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
Prepare laptops/desktops for use on the Snap-On corporate network.
Manage and maintain the Telecoms equipment.
Implement, manage and maintain site Servers including backup.
Implement, manage and maintain user active directory for the site.
Assist with troubleshooting products in development or product tools.
Help identify areas of cost reductions within the IT department – monitoring and analysing Telecoms and Telco bills to ensure conformity.
Managing internal ticketing system for Cork IT group
Storage device management.
