IT Business Systems Manager (Limerick)

Our client operates a successful and growing business in the retail sector, with multiple outlets throughout Ireland.  The group expects to see significant growth at all locations throughout Ireland, and to help manage and maintain this growth they are now seeking applications for the role of IT Business Systems Manager. This is the most senior IT role within the Group and as such my client is looking for an ambitious IT professional and will give him/her the opportunity to join a growing organization and drive the future IT strategy of the Group. This is a full time permanent role based in our client’s offices in Limerick City. Genuine career prospects in the medium term to develop your career into a Group IT Director level role are on offer for the right candidate.



Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day activities of the Group’s IT department and all its projects. This will include:


·         Advising the management team on ways to make processes more efficient and employees more productive;

·         Reviewing business needs and document workflows and processes, identifying and promoting opportunities to automate system processes;

·         Introducing enhancement requests from end users and convert into workable solutions;

·         Defining project requirements by identifying project milestones, issuing progress reports and recommending action;

·         Lead a small team of IT professionals and manage all relationships with IT vendors.

·         Manage IT department budgets.



Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will have a Computer Science degree and a formal Project Management qualification, with a proven track record in both Business System Analysis and in managing multiple IT projects. You should have excellent team working/team building skills and have the ability to balance technical skills with business awareness.

As this role is in the retail sector a background in IT systems within the retail sector would be highly desirable, as would experience of implementing/managing ERP systems and or POS solutions.

Prior experience of managing Business Intelligence and data warehousing projects would also be very desirable.

As there is a need to work closely with management, the branch network and other stakeholders, good communication skills, commercial awareness as well as troubleshooting abilities are required

You should be confident of your ability to quickly learn and adapt to various business systems and IT processes.

You should have exceptional analytical and problem solving skills and have the ability to take initiative in researching and proposing solutions.
