TalentScope Recruitment Solutions, on behalf of our client, are seeking applications for a contract Oracle DBA for a 7 month contract role in Co. Cork.
Job Tasks:
- The day to day monitoring and management of the Oracle Databases and Application Servers to provide fast responses to front-end users.
- Implement database changes and apply new patches and versions when required.
- Second Line Support for Production, Test and In house Development environments.
- System troubleshooting and problem solving through our Internal Helpdesk Tool.
- Installation and testing new versions of Oracle Database and Application Servers.
- Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards.
- Managing and testing back-up and recovery plans.
- Liaising with programmers, applications/operational staff, IT project managers and other technical staff regarding ongoing and upcoming projects.
Required Experience:
- 3 plus years’ experience working as an Oracle Database Administrator.
- Oracle 11g/12c and Microsoft SQL Database Administration Skills.
- Previous Experience of Performance Tuning, Installation, Patching, Backups, System and Hardware Upgrades.
- The ability to document database administration work in a clear and concise manner.
- Enterprise Manager 11g Skills or Experience.
- Experience in OBIEE, BI and ADF is an advantage.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant computer science degree.
- Oracle Security certification desirable
- ITIL certifications is an advantage.
