Our client, an engineering company that builds cryptocurrencies and blockchains for academic institutions, government entities and corporations, is looking for a Technical Business Analyst to join them as they work on various software development projects. They are looking for a BA who will work closely with the Program Manager/Project Manager creating and overseeing implementation of project/product documentation.

This is a role for a BA with outstanding communication and organization skills who can write the sprint tasks and support the Product Manager/Program Manager in the timely delivery of their products.  This is a 12 month Fixed Term and offers the opportunity to work remotely. This is a role for someone who wants to move along the BA Career Path from BA to Product or Project Manager.


Responsibilities

You will be responsible working with the Product/Project Manager(s) designing and implementing the following:

  • Contributing to the project’s vision document (Project Charter).
  • Contributing to the Requirement Management Plan (responsibility assignments, tools and procedures used, workflows and activities).
  • You will work with the Program/Project/Product Manager to collect business requirements for all levels/layers of the project (project background, stakeholders, data requirements, non-functional requirements, interface requirements, business glossary/definitions).
  • You will have to effectively facilitate meetings, demonstrate brainstorming / consensus building skills, and interact with executive level project staff.
  • Preparing use cases documenting organizational functional requirements from the user’s perspective as well as creating and documenting ‘user stories’.
  • Preparing and tracking the Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM) which tracks and outlines project scope and any changes to the project.
  • Converting business requirements into ‘Functional Requirement Specifications’ (‘FRS’) and Functional Specification Documentation (‘FSD’) ensuring they align with various document stakeholders (developers, testers, business stakeholders of the project).
  • Drafting and maintaining System Requirement Specification documentation (SRS) (producing data flow diagrams, sequence diagrams, state-transition diagrams).
  • You will not explicitly be asked to create test cases but you must understand how to create a test case and test functionalities against it. You will also work with the Test/QA Manager and product owner to ensure all features are incorporated into the project test and QA plan.

 

 Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with information systems and/or document management- related applications.
  • Experience with records management.
  • Well-organized and experience with project plan development and implementation.
  • Experience developing technical documentation.
  • Experience with business processes, process flow analysis, product architecture and design best practices.  
  • Excellent skills in communication, negotiation, consensus building, analysis, research, and problem solving.
  • Driven to achieving results and continuously striving to deliver the highest performance through creative thinking.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to take a leadership role when necessary.
  • Detail-oriented individual with the ability to quickly assimilate and apply new concepts, business models, and technologies.
