Technical Consultant (Java) required for global cutting-edge software company based in Dublin City Centre. My Client is a very well know and high respected company in the global open source community.
This role will suit someone that was/is a Java Developer but now wants to move into a Professional Services / Consultancy role dealing with well know multinational Clients throughout Europe. This position will not involve much actual developed itself (as this is covered by USA based Dev team) however sufficient technical background is required to have a full understanding to be able to lead requirement discussions with the Client.
Responsibilities:
- Work with well-known multinational Client’s to help plan, design, build, and deliver innovative solutions out of the box or through customizations
- Hold meaningful and loaded conversations with customer/project teams - internal developers/engineering and sales etc.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance in the installation, configuration, and implementation of the company’s Java-based products.
- Connect with customers to understand their needs, requirements and to efficiently plan with the development team
- Estimated travel of up to 50% to customer sites (EMEA) to provide face-to-face technical solutions or training - Travel will always be planned with reasonable notice, typically min of 2+ weeks’ notice at least
Requirements
- A passion for cutting-edge open source technology
- Excellent Client facing interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Strong Tech knowledge Java E is critical.
- Solid knowledge of application performance and performance tuning
- Experience with Liferay or other portal solutions a bonus
- Excellent Client facing interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Must have excellent English but any additional language skills are a major bonus
