Title: Database Administrator
Location: Limerick
Our client is looking for a new Database Administrator to join their amazing DBA team here in Limerick.
Their aim is to enable some of the largest retailers in the world to sell as much as they can online so if you are interested in pushing SQL Server to its limits, then this might be the position for you!
Requirements:
* Minimum 3 years of experience in an OLTP database administration role working with SQL Server 2012 or higher
* Experience maintaining at least dozens (although ideally hundreds) of SQL instances in a production environment
* Highly proficient across all facets of database administration including backup and restore, performance tuning, configuration, high availability, security, disaster recovery and corruption repair
* A passion for SQL Server, especially working with new features and contributing to the SQL Server community
* T-SQL development skills that are somewhere between competent and Itzik Ben-Gan
Experience with some of the following would be a bonus:
* Powershell, Python, Bash and other scripting languages
* Working with the Hadoop ecosystem especially via Polybase
* Availability Groups
* WSFC or Pacemaker
* Basic systems administration skills for Windows and/or Linux
* Elasticsearch
* Nagios
* Transactional Replication and/or CDC
* VMWare
* AWS
* Automation tooling such as Ansible
* PowerBI, SSIS, SSAS and SSRS
