Game Development Manager role - C++ - Studio Head - Ireland - Munster

Are you creative, strategic, innovative, and enthusiastic about games?
The preferred candidate for this role will have a proven track record building and managing world class teams producing AAA quality games on multiple platforms such as PlayStation, PC, Xbox, Wii etc.
About the Studio Head C++ Game Development Manager role:
• You will work with leadership to identify new and unique opportunities for future projects, which are in line with business aims and vision.
• Ideally, you will have experience serving as a Senior VP / Studio Head / Executive Producer for multiple titles that have been released, including games for PC, consoles, and mobile platforms
• You will be a highly organized individual with outstanding communication skills, proven experience in development and production, and a track record of shipping AAA titles to lead our future efforts in creating the world’s best virtual and augmented reality content.
Studio Head Responsibilities:
• Manage a team of 17
• Report to the Director
• Link between Technology & Business
• Plan and direct studio activities
• Set objectives for and direct one or more project teams through direct reports. Ensure that direct reports have appropriate resources to achieve defined objectives
• Contribute to hands-on tech, either Development or Animation
• Ensure game development teams are working effectively towards business goals by providing operational support and guidance to team members
• Lead and provide mentorship, coaching and performance management to Studio Management team
• Find and recruit new team members.
• Manage and hold accountable a team of Leads (Technical, Art, Animation & Development), providing leadership support and strategic direction.
• Identify new opportunities for future projects and content releases
• Manage project budget and overall Business/P&L responsibilities
• Manage production staff and leads to ensure project needs are clearly defined, effectively communicated and addressed
• Provide hands-on mentoring in areas such as requirements analysis, project management, communication, organization, leadership, etc.
Studio Head Requirements:
• Proven people management and development team mentoring experience
• Development experience in Gaming
• Knowledge and experience of C++
• Must have good communication skills, balanced decisiveness, and clarity in judgment and establishing priorities
• Excellent comprehension of all aspects of game production (management, planning, scheduling, budgeting, staffing, programming/technology, design, art, audio, localization, QA)
• Extensive Production knowledge and game development
• In-depth knowledge of gaming industries and Avid game player
• Comprehensive problem solving skills with the ability to quickly identify problems, research solutions, and make qualified and effective decisions.
• Passionate about developing and producing games that advance the user experience and allow for the exploration of new business models.
• Technical and creative writing ability with the capability of creating presentations, design documents, FAQs, and pitch decks.
Nice to Have:
• Good sense of current gaming trends and market competition
• Animation Experience
• Experience with VR technologies such as Oculus Rift, HTC Vive or PSVR
• Advanced knowledge of AR technologies
• Experience with cutting edge technologies and developing software on prototype hardware
