IT Systems Release Engineer - Dublin 18
Role Overview
As an experienced systems administrator that has worked across multiple technologies your role will focus on management of releases through the software delivery life cycle. You will be responsible for the automation of the release process from software development through test and into production across a range of systems. Additionally you will be responsible for the configuration management and integrity of the production, pre-production and test environments.
Responsibilities
• Develops and maintains automated procedures to manage release activity into test, pre-production and production environments.
• Defines methods and tools needed to ensure seamless automation across the full release cycle.
• Manages scheduling and release activity into production in line with deployment plans.
• Ensures all changes comply to change management controls in terms of stakeholder signoff, tracking and technical quality assurance
Technical skills profile
Required:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as systems administrator in both Windows and Linux production environment
• Strong system administration skills including virtualisation, load balancing, routing and security
• Strong scripting skills in Powershell and Bash
• Must have a very good understanding of configuration management, version control, pipelining techniques.
• Proficient with deployment tools and techniques
• Skilled in operating within an ITIL aligned change management function
Desirable
• Experience in application server middleware on Linux and Windows
• ITIL Foundation certification
Your Profile:
• A degree in computer science from a recognised University or Technical College
• Experience in best practice release management and continuous integration.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and deliver within tight deadlines
• Excellent communication skills
• An enthusiasm for advanced techniques and emerging technologies
