Systems Administrator - Initial 3 month contract - Dublin 18
Role Overview
As an experienced sysadmin that has worked across multiple technologies your role will span three key areas. You will provide second level support of our IT infrastructure and co-ordination with external managed service providers. You will be running technical projects from start to finish with hands on delivery a frequent part of these projects. As part of the devops delivery you will be building and running automated software release processes for changes to our online application stack.
Responsibilities
• Manage transition of change to production environment adhering to agreed change control process.
• Develop established Devops procedures to automate release activity
• Maintain integrity of 24x7 technical architecture to agreed principles of high availability, business continuity and capacity
• Complete ownership of assigned IT projects from initiation to completion.
• Technical Support. Second line of contact for escalations from front line IT support analysts to assist in triage, diagnosis and resolution within SLA when required.
• Proactive Monitoring. Monitors key system areas hourly / daily using key Monitoring systems. Creates alerts/incidents when issues arise that need to be resolved.
• Manages personal work queues to ensure all service requests are operated to SLA.
• Participates in the extended support on call rota.
• Operates IT security controls and produces control compliance reporting.
Technical skills profile
Required:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as systems administrator in both Windows and Linux production environment
• Strong scripting skills in Powershell and Bash
• Skilled in operating within an ITIL aligned support function
Desirable
• Experience in evolving Devops methods, tools and techniques
• 2 years’ experience in Microsoft stack administration including deployment, performance tuning and security – specifically MS SQL Server, .net WCF framework
• Strong network design and implementation skills
• Experience operating to ISO27002 standards for security
• ITIL Foundation certification
