Java Engineer w/Cloud

My client, a leading telecommunications consultancy, based in the heart of Ireland are looking for a senior Java Developer with experience working with Cloud based infrastructure.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Day to day you will be developing and testing within an Engineering Scrum Team in an innovative cloud based project.
You will be working with the latest technologies: Enterprise Java, Python, Open source cloud platforms.
Have a knowledge and understanding of Cloud based infrastructure (IAAS), platforms (PAAS) and software (SAAS).

Java Engineer w/Cloud

SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE:
• A 3rd level degree in Computer Science / IT
• Very strong knowledge of Java and Web Services including REST
• Object oriented analysis, design experience
• Cloud based system - configuration, operation and deployment
• Excellent English and Communication skills essential
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Interface with customers and stakeholders and mitigate risks (for senior roles)
• Ability to work on own initiative and mentor scrum teams (for senior roles)

TECHNICAL:
• 4+ years’ experience with Java/J2EE Development
• 3+ years’ experience with cloud infrastructures (hands-on) – AWS, Cloud Foundry, Open Stack etc.
• Experience with Docker, Vagrant, Mesos, Aurora, Zookeeper – in general application deployment, management, scheduling and execution in cloud
• Experience of application deployment in bare metal, VMs, blades etc.
• Experience working with Junit, JMeter, Maven, ANT, GIT, SVN, BitBucket, Jenkins, Bamboo etc.
• Experience working in an Agile environment with Engineering scrum teams is an added advantage
• Dev-Ops Training/Certification is an added advantage
