My client are looking for a junior DevOps engineer with a good understanding of the software development life cycle and some commercial experience with source control tools (ideally SVN).

They work with over 400 customers in more than 50 countries worldwide and have seen their business grow exponentially over the last 2 years. They are looking to take the next step and continue this growth by bringing on someone to knit together their QA, Development and Operations teams and help to streamline the build/release process.

Duties/Responsibilities:

* Managing the build process, code repositories and deployments.
* Develops automation of software builds and deployments.
* Ensures that appropriate quality steps and approvals are adhered to prior to software promotions.
* Works with Architects, Developers and Quality Assurance to identify and resolve build or deployment problems.

Skills/Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in computer science or other relevant discipline.
* Strong understanding of the SDLC.
* Strong SCM skills.
* Source control tools experience, ideally SVN or Git.
* Strong experience in a Linux environment.
* Some exposure to JBOSS/Apache/Tomcat.
* Ability to code in Java would be a bonus but isn't a requirement.
