My client is a leading, independently minded provider of trust, fund and corporate services, operating in 14 strategic locations worldwide. Due to expansion they have an exciting new opportunity in our Dublin office, and are seeking an experienced Infrastructure engineer to join their Group Technology Services team. The successful candidate will manage the support and design of core infrastructure such as network and storage, as well as assisting the outsourced partners that support our primary infrastructure technology systems.
This position requires strategic thinking and hands-on technical delivery. The ideal candidate is a skilled technologist with a proven track record in delivering large-scale technology-related infrastructure projects. The role will report to the Head of Group Technology Services.
Main responsibilities:
• Provide service operation/design and project support as required
• Participate as required in out-of-hours support and upgrade activities in line with the Incident Management Rota
• Assist outsourced partners in the day-to-day support of our primary infrastructure technology such as desktop computing, print, mobile devices, telephony, video conferencing and network and administration systems such as Active Directory
• Provide support for service management processes such as asset, incident, change, supplier and licensing management, together with technology procurement and associated management of the mobile telephony estate
• Proactively engage in the day-to-day support and development of business applications and databases
• Work both individually and in collaboration with team members on a broad range of infrastructure technology projects
• Take ownership of activities associated with incident and change management
• Manage and operate tasks associated with technology procurement
• Lend your experience and expertise to other team members
• Manage and proactively support the development of any direct reports and other technology team members
• Provide technical validation of business requirements as well as researching and presenting solutions
• Proactively document processes and procedures to enable a high standard of service and governance
• Liaise with third party suppliers to achieve the delivery and support of solutions
• Ensure that security is factored into all technology solutions and design
• Travel to all jurisdictions in which First Names Group operates, as required
Key skills and experience:
• Demonstrable experience managing wide area networks, preferably including MPLS technology, Tier 1 transit partners, peering relationships and a private ASN
• Proven knowledge of WAN and LAN routing protocols on varied platforms (Cisco, Juniper etc.)
• BGP / ASN experience
• Proven application of network management, change control and fault finding tool sets
• Experience in Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems in a virtualised environment
• Excellent experience and skills in networking and DNS / DHCP / TCP / IP
• Excellent knowledge and proven application of systems management tooling, namely Active Directory
• Outstanding knowledge in two core disciplines of server, desktop, virtualisation or networking
• Working knowledge of print and telephony technology
• Expert knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
• Good knowledge of scripting
• Knowledge and experience of information security
• Desired professional qualifications:
• MCP or COMPTIA A+ or equivalent experience
