Primary responsibilities:

• Elaborate and formalize different use cases for clouds scaling from micro to big clouds, requirements to Openstack reference architecture and control plan of Openstack (Fuel)
• Lead Openstack reference architecture and requirements to control plane (Fuel) from Openstack so that Fuel and Openstack support large scale deployments in Highly Available mode
• Ensure Openstack and Fuel reference architectures are aligned with company and product goals and upstream of Openstack and Fuel (in community and internally)
• Work together with development teams in MOS, Fuel and Openstack community on implementation of elaborated best practices
• Requires the ability to travel 50%+ (domestic & internationally) via ground and/or air transportation, including but not limited to, operating a vehicle and/or riding as a passenger in a vehicle, airplane, train or other form of transportation

Experience Requirements:

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to read/create technical documentation in English
• Great analytic and problem solving skills
• Experience designing and running clusters greater than 1000 nodes or large scale highly distributed cloud applications
• Good knowledge of clustering technologies (Pacemaker, Galera, Corosync, …)
• Knowledge of automation tools (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, …)
• Keen understanding of message queue architectures at scale
• Good understanding of Linux internals, virtualization and networking
• Working knowledge of Jenkins, Git
• 5+ years of experience in HA/Scalability space, or other relevant hands-on experience working with HA at large scale
• 8-10+ years of solid engineering track record
