Our Dublin based client has an excellent job opportunity for someone with a strong Data Analytics skill set and experience with languages such as Python and/or R and ideally experience with NoSQL environments such as Hadoop, Pentaho etc. Ideally you will have experience in Investment banking or financial services.

Role description:

• The data Quality Data Analyst will help with the measuring of data quality against data standards
and additional data rules developed within the CDO Data Quality Program
• The role will have matrix reporting lines, a local reporting line to the regional DQ Lead and a global
reporting line to the Data Validation lead based in the UK
• You will be responsible for testing the data rule effectiveness and efficiency in the current data
validation environments, visualization of results and proposing enhancements to the business
owned data standards that are consistent within the overall DQ strategic framework
• The function will work with all relevant business functions to understand the current environment
and where gaps are identified, how to improve data standards and where necessary supplement
them with additional analytical measures that create greater business value and insight into DQ
• You will need to apply data science tools and techniques to solve complex data problems. You will
be comfortable working on sensitive and highly complex data sets
• The role requires a combination of Data Analyst and Business Analyst skills sets

Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Analyse existing data quality rules, data sources and business needs to create a fit for purpose
data quality measurement rule set
• Assist in developing and measuring data rule effectiveness and efficiency and associated KPI’s and
regular reporting
• Data sourcing, discovery and analytics using a variety tools, visualisation and scripting
• Hands on analytics and application of data science techniques, such as statistical modelling and
predictive analysis, to provide transformative proposals
• Creation of models, reporting and visualisation solutions providing interpretation and insight into
DQ business data and processes
• Issue identification and analysis techniques, such as pattern analysis and root cause analysis, to
help identify why issues occur and propose solutions

Experience/ Exposure:

• Knowledge of SQL, and one or more BI tools and DQ measurement tools (for e.g. Informatica Data
Quality or other similar tools) is preferred
• Experience with other Data Analytics languages like Python, R etc. desirable
• Experience with Agile principles and methodology
• Prior experience in having worked in data quality measurement and reporting function
• Experience working in global teams
• The ability to identify issues and propose solutions
• The ability to prioritise key deliverables
• Experience working in a financial domain (capital markets, transaction banking wealth
management)
• Experience in data analytics and business analysis
• Experience in configuration or rollout of central libraries for Data Quality

Education/ Certification:

• Educated to degree level (or overseas equivalent)
• Relevant technical accreditation desirable

Candidate should posses:

• Experience of Banking process, including: Risk and P&L, Finance and Regulatory Reporting, Trade
Capture and Risk Reporting
• A good understanding of financial products, including use of trade economic data throughout a
bank, valuation and accounting data and the use of reference data to standardize product
information
• Fluent in basic IT tools including : Excel, Word and PowerPoint and having used on or more BI and
or DQ assessment tools
• Ability to demonstrate examples of previous successful deliveries and a track record in providing
insight and innovation through the application data science
• Ability to communicate clearly and fluently in an way that users will understand
• Ability to influence owners of data to act for the collective good of DQ
• Ability to identify tasks outside their own remit and work with peers to ensure an end to end
solution is effectively delivered
