Our client are a global financial services firm based in the IFSC. The company is seeking an Analyst Developer with 3 years minimum relevant experience to join them on the delivery of a number of key projects that will enhance capability across carious areas of the business – Client Services, Investment, Finance & Actuarial- as well as help deliver new financial products to the UK and European Markets.
Responsibilities:
• Working on all aspects of an Agile software development lifecycle:
o Working with business teams locally on ( functional & non-functional) requirements
o Definition, breakdown, grooming and sizing of epics and user stories for sprint planning
o Full implementation, establishing and/or adhering to best practices as appropriate
o Leverage/ adoption of industry and proprietary frameworks/APIs/tools
o System unit and performance testing, UAT testing support
o Migration preparation, testing and execution
o Documentation and training via presentations to developer team
o Maintenance and support
• Participating in knowledge-sharing and lead the adoption of best-of-breed approaches for a
robust solution
• Participating in technical design/code reviews to establish and promote best practice and
guidelines
• Actively look to improve system architecture and design, bringing discussions to TAG (Technical
Architecture Group) and scrum teams to progress towards a target architecture
• Seek out and drive opportunities to improve development process and quality assurance
Essential experience and qualifications:
• Educated to degree level or equivalent in IT discipline
• Java SE/EE experience, including any of Swing, EJB3.0, JAX-WS, JPA, JDBC
• Some knowledge of industry frameworks/APIs such as Spring or Hibernate
• Some knowledge3 of OO concepts, Design Patterns (EIP, PEAA, GoF) and UML
• DB experience: data model design, SQL query design (ideally Informix/ SQL Server)
• Some XML programming skills: JAXP, JAXB, XSLT etc.
Desirable experience:
• Spring experience: Core, JDBC, Remoting, Batch, Integration
• Automated testing experience such as Junit, mocking frameworks etc.
• JIRA and related tools (Bamboo, Fisheye, Crucible)
• Ant & Maven
• JEE application servers (e.g. JBoss)
• SQL query optimisation
• Eclipse & SVN
• BI/ Data warehousing, using SSIS and SQL Server
• Experience of working in Agile development environment
• Experience in an IT role focused on Investment and Banking systems
