Skills Required
What skills do I need to succeed in this job?
Candidates need 1-5 years Java experience and need to have worked in a disciplined development environment. Emphasis is on communications skills and teamwork. We encourage interest from young enthusiastic developers with an interest in a fast track career in a high energy environment where there is good exposure to a modern technologies.
A good mix of knowledge within the following;
• Java JEE
• Spring Framework
• RESTful, JMS and SOAP-based services
• Testing frameworks and TDD (like JUnit or Mockito)
• Version Control Systems (CVS, SVN, GIT)
• Application Servers like Tomcat, WebLogic or JBoss
• Persistence Frameworks like Hibernate, EclipseLink or iBatis
• Databases: Relational (e.g. Oracle, MySQL or SQL Server) and NoSQL (e.g. MongoDB, Redis or Hazelcast)
• Front-End development using HTML5, JavaScript and JavaScript Frameworks (e.g. AngularJS, KnockoutJS or BackboneJS), CSS/SASS/LESS.
Experience with tools such as:
• IDEs: IntelliJ, Eclipse or Netbeans
• Build tools: Ant, Maven, Gradle or sbt
• Continuous Integration: Hudson/Jenkins, Bamboo or TeamCity
• Testing: SoapUI/LoadUI, JMeter, Selenium, Cucumber, JBehave, Fitnesse
Experience of working within an Agile environment is desirable.
What other attributes will I need to be successful?
Developers will be responsible for delivery of project components according to Functional Requirements Specifications. They must be comfortable with working to technical designs and perform unit testing, integration testing and supporting system testing.
Project methodologies include both Waterfall and Agile.
