Software Development Manager

An enterprise giant who specialize in eCommerce are actively looking to hire a Software Development Manager. Role Overview:
Manage a software development team composed of software engineers and quality engineers in an Agile framework utilizing SAFe. Own on-time delivery of planned software features, resolution of defects, and production of estimates. Maintain team alignment, collaboration, and progressive growth for team members.
Key Objectives
• Day-to-day team management, including performance/compensation reviews
• Ensure completion of all committed deliverables with quality and within a time interval (Sprint for SCRUM teams and “as committed” for Kanban teams)
• Achieve all assigned training goals on time for yourself and your team
• Lead software design and estimates
• Mentor team members with a focus on their development and growth
• Be a reliable go-to expert in all areas of your team’s areas of responsibility
• Keep your technical skills and assigned product knowledge up to date
• Support your team to ensure overall success by adopting a team-first mindset
Experience
• Experience: 5+ years Management with a software development background (.Net /C#)
• Education preference: a bachelor's in computer science, software engineering, or a related field of study
• Excellent communication skills (including presentation skills)
• Excellent knowledge of design patterns and architectural paradigms
• Ability to design, estimate, and clearly articulate new software features
• Expert in troubleshooting, debugging, and investigating of software issues
• Ability to clearly relate business needs to product functionality
• Excellent ability to reason in terms of trade-offs and ability to make sound technical decisions
• Expert handling technical debt decisions such as acquisition and repayment
• Expert in best security practices (OWASP 10, Threat modeling, etc)
• Excellent ability to explain technical and architectural concepts and product functionality
• Great attention to detail while maintaining alignment with the big picture
• Key Awareness Items (Challenges):
• Managing people and finding the right balance between applying authority and letting team self-manage
• Understanding target business vertical, users of your product, and how your product addresses users’ business needs
