They are now looking to appoint a full time Network Security Engineer
Salary: €50 to €60k depending on experience
Location: Dunboyne, Ireland
Hours: Monday to Friday am shifts
The Network Security Engineers Role
You will work across Our clients SCADA and Telecommunications engineering teams to evolve and improve security control environments for our clients corporate and client infrastructure
5 years in IT with at least 3 years within a cyber-security role.
A good understanding of IT, including hardware, networks and VoIP
In-depth knowledge of security concepts such as cyber-attacks and techniques, threat vectors, risk & incident management.
Experienced in network design and implementation.
Knowledge of applications, databases, web servers to address security threats.
Incident & Risk Management
Experience of using tools to investigate Information Security issues such as network sniffers and vulnerability scanners etc.
The ability to interrogate systems such as AD, Microsoft servers and desktops, networks and applications using command line tools and the use of scripts such as PowerShell etc.
Strong analytical and research skills with excellent report writing and communication skills.
A good understanding of IT and technical information security controls such as anti-virus, anti-malware, IDS, IPS, Firewalls, and DLP etc.
Experience of investigating and resolving security incidents in live, test and development environments.
Any experience of Industrial Control Systems is a bonus
Role and Responsibilities
Responsible for the network and security elements of the customer s environment over multiple sites, this includes wired and wireless networks, network security systems, remote access, and several monitoring systems.
Provide IT expertise to all project and change related activities. Ensure that technical specifications are correctly defined, fit for purpose and provide input to project teams around technical delivery.
Provide technical expertise to investigate information security issues relating to all aspects of on premise and cloud infrastructure.
Support initiatives to improve information security such as security upgrades, audit, and PEN test recommendations.
Provide support and monitoring services across all areas of the networks to ensure uninterrupted service and availability within the customer environment.
Continue to develop processes to strengthen the current security operations framework.
Advise on the choice and deployment of different security technologies.
Managing change control, including SLAs, risk and information security.
Provide knowledge and support to the technical support team where required, both for internal teams and any external partners.
Assist the COO in delivering and maintaining ISO27001 security policy and standards.
Knowledge of security frameworks; ISO 27001 & NIS
Provide technical delivery of infrastructure projects along-side engineers to facilitate new systems and upgrades.
Responsible for ensuring successful delivery, sign off and hand over to support services post project.
Ensure all documentation and network diagrams are accurately completed\updated\created including the maintaining of asset information and configurations.
Manage incidents, problems and changes through helpdesk ticket management system as required
