Cyber Security Engineer
Required Skills and Qualifications
The Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for securing the entire communications network in accordance with the Department's security policies. They will have an active role in the development of scalable network designs, solutions and policies with a focus on network security. This engineer will be responsible for the configuration and support of all firewall devices. The responsibilities of the Cyber Security Engineer include but are not limited to:
· Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information
· Identify and define system security requirements
· Design computer security architecture and develop detailed security plans
· Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols
· Configure and troubleshoot network and security infrastructure devices
· Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks
· Ensure that the company knows as much as possible, as quickly as possible about security incidents
· Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancement
The proposed engineer should be able to provide evidence of qualifications and sufficiently detailed examples of an advanced level of prior experience and expertise in the technical areas outlined under the following five headings.
Cisco Security Technologies Experience and Certifications
· Cisco CCNP Routing Certified
· Cisco ASA / Firepower
· Cisco VPN / AnyConnect / IOS VPN Client Checkpoint Security Technologies Experience and Certifications
· Checkpoint CCSA R71 Certified
· Checkpoint R8x Firewall / VPN / IPS
· Checkpoint Gaia 27
· Checkpoint Security Suite including Threat Emulation, HTTPS inspection, IPS
· Checkpoint Endpoint Connect General Security Technologies Experience
· Elasticsearch/Graylog clusters, kibana, logstash, kafka,
· Ironport Email Appliances / AsyncOS or equivalent
· Bluecoat ProxySG/CAS or equivalent content filtering technologies
· RSA SecurID or equivalent
· Kemp Loadbalancers or equivalent
· Anti-Virus technologies. Symantec, McAfee, Kaspersky etc. Must span Windows Servers, SharePoint, and Exchange etc.
· Thorough understanding of DNS (Windows/Bind) Experience of the following Operating System technologies to Administrator level
· Linux · Windows 10
· Widows Server 2012 R2 and later technologies Documentation and Report Writing
· Experience working under pressure and to deadlines.
· Experience writing reports, creating technical documentation and providing training The Cyber Security Engineer will report to the Senior Network and Senior Security engineers.
