Senior ICT Infrastructure Architect
Required Skills and Qualifications
The Senior ICT Infrastructure Architect will report to the Server Infrastructure manager of the ICT Unit and will help coordinate the work of the four (4) Senior Engineers. They will be responsible for the assignment of duties and tasks to the Senior Engineers based on skills, experience and roles in particular projects. The Senior Infrastructure Architect will be the Project Manager of all major technical projects undertaken. Minimum qualification: Consultant with a full MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) accreditation is mandatory. Other accreditation in the relevant technologies outlined is desirable, particularly specialised Microsoft accreditation in Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange and Hyper-V. 5 years' experience of working in a public sector or equivalent enterprise environment is desirable. In addition to the minimum qualifications specified, the proposed engineer should be able to provide sufficiently detailed examples of an advanced level of prior experience and expertise in the technical areas outlined under the following five headings.
Microsoft Windows Server Technologies
· Microsoft Active Directory. High Availability, replication models, sites and services, group policy, authentication design, FSMO roles and placement, all types of Forest and Domain Trusts and implementation examples.
· Hyper-V. Design, install and support of Hyper-V cluster environments spanning multiple sites. This must include SAN and hardware sizing, geo cluster design to include quorum and witness placement. Network and cluster subnet design and separation to include converged networking, VMQ and SR-IOV.
· Microsoft Windows Server. Expert understanding of all current Windows Server technologies, server roles and features with applicable Microsoft certifications. 20 Microsoft Exchange and SQL
· Microsoft Exchange. Design, install and support of Microsoft Exchange 2016 with DAG technology including local high availability, site to site high availability, Role placement, mailbox database and Storage IOPs sizing and placement, namespace design and underlying clustering and network design.
· Microsoft SQL. Design, install and support of Microsoft SQL Server technologies and associated clustering. Should include traditional clustering and also availability groups. Multisite failover. Replication design, SQL database sizing, IOPs sizing, network design, instance design to include collation and authentication. Hosting Infrastructure, Citrix & Cloud Technologies
· Hosting Infrastructure. Web hosting infrastructure design to include datacentre and disaster recovery facility design. Must include security and DMZ configuration, virtualisation design, network design, backup and redundancy design, load balancing and general prior web hosting environment setup experience.
· Citrix. Design, install and support of Citrix and RDP solutions to include server and farm placement. Netscaler and RD gateway placement. Server, desktop and application farm separation. Citrix policies and integration with AD group policies. Citrix DMZ design and security. Citrix Server sizing.
