SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Our Client requires a Senior Software Engineer with strong development experience. Candidates will have a strong technical engineering background with a proven track record in the design, development, and implementation of solutions that support both product and platform development.
The Senior Software Engineer role involves the design, development, and implementation of solutions that improve production process, reduce development / delivery times and reduce product / process costs.
You will work within the Internal Development Team, which has a core responsibility for the development of internal processes and solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Work with the Internal Development Team to define, estimate, and implement internal solutions to produce efficiencies in our content / software delivery process.
• Responsible for the development of process/solutions for current and next generation products.
• Responsibility for troubleshooting technical issues and working toward resolution.
• Analyses and solves problems from basic engineering principles, theories and concepts through to a wide range of complex and advanced problems which require novel and new innovative approaches in technology.
• Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the software development process.
• Very technical and technologically savvy.
• Excellent communication abilities.
Skills and Experience
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or comparable industry experience
• Java and XML development experience is mandatory.
• Experience in web and database based technologies Java, XML, XSLT, SQL, RDBMs (including Oracle, MySQL & Microsoft SQL Server), JDBC, HTML/XHTML, Web development
• Excellent debugging skills
• Ability to efficiently QA your own work to ensure that processes / solutions you develop generate high quality output
• Desired experience with the development of internal solutions to improve efficiency
• Ability to successfully explain complex issues to non technical people
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with fluency in English essential
