QA Engineer / Software Tester

My client is an exciting software development company based in Dublin. They are currently looking to recruit a QA Engineer / Software Tester to join their team. If you’re a senior tester with a passion for technology and solving problems – this is the role for you.

The successful candidate will benefit from a stimulating and rewarding working environment, comprehensive training and career enhancing prospects. Working in an Agile environment, as a QA Engineer you will be working directly with development and system administrators in troubleshooting problems.

You will:
• Comply test case and technical documentation
• Identify and documents bugs within assigned projects
• Analyze and troubleshoots issues with software and environment
• Write test automation code and builds test automation suites
• Design and develop tests (both automated and manual) to be performed
• Create, review and maintain test cases and plans
• Review new requirements and devise new test scenarios and scripts, suggest new feature improvements for the solution
• Installs code into QA environment and maintains environment integrity

For this position you must have:

• Experience working in an Agile software development team
• Experience with performing moderately difficult Database SQL queries (Mysql/Oracle environment is an advantage)
• Solid experience with at least one major issue tracking systems (Jira, Mantis, etc.)
• Knowledge of and experience with core web front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS and foundation-level JavaScript

Knowledge or experience of the following would also be beneficial:

• Operating systems: Windows , Linux
• Databases: MySQL, MsSQL, PostgreSQL
• Other: TCP/IP, HTTP, SOAP, Web services, Performance/Load testing, Selenium, Automation, Hudson
• Experience in the automation of testing front-end web applications (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, XML)
• Experience in the automation of testing back-end web systems (Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, REST Web services)
• Experience with test automation tools, particularly JMeter and Selenium
• Working knowledge of Java programming language
• Working knowledge of a scripting language (e.g. Perl, Python, shell scripting)
• Ability to troubleshoot issues across browsers (e.g. JavaScript, jQuery, CSS)

Additional Requirements:
• Excellent written and verbal English-language communications skills
• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum of 3 years software testing experience
• Deep knowledge of the software development and test processes
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
