Aspira is currently looking for a Project Engineer for a 12+ months contract starting in May. The client is located in Brussels, and you would to be on site 3-4 days a week when the projects allow.
Responsibilities
- Overall (technical) project manager for investment projects
- Responsible for all aspects of projects, budget, planning, quality, safety
- Ensure interests of the company's and internal stakeholders, e.g. by considering longer term view and applying global and local standards
- Ensuring compliance with global and local processes and procedures, e.g. “The way we buy” or Large Project Methodology “Helios”.
- Provide best solution for acceptable costs
Tasks (indication)
- See to it the user defines scope, user/functional requirements and support this process where required
- (Help) define basic design principles
- Define scope for vendors, engineering firms, who further detail the design under responsibility of the project manager. Judge content and pricing of quotations of these firms, without having to be an expert on all aspects
- Team up with the engineering firms, project sponsor and user representatives.
- Drive the projects!
- Participate in hazard studies, on occasion.
- Together with purchasing and engineering firm(s) tender work packages for e.g. construction
- Report project status. Request purchase orders. Validate invoices, do good receipts (GR). Evaluate hazards, near misses, incidents
- Evaluate quality and content of safety plans and task risk analysis for project execution
- Be able to write the work permits, to do so and/or steer work preparation who does
- Participate in toolbox meetings, especially first ones at startup of a project
- Organize execution in such a way that designing firm also takes responsibility for execution
- A project manager runs sever several projects
Environment
- Projects are next to civil also production installation orientated, but nearly always multi-disciplinary. Think of building installations like HVAC, production installations, regulations like PGS15, Atex are topics that will be part of the project flavor
- Projects typically from 150k – 1.500k, however in Brussels Site Master Plan 1 or two exceeding this range are expected.
- Experience in green and brown field projects
- On site preferably full time; minimum 3-4 days per week when the projects allow
Qualifications
- Experience as a project engineer, Knowledge of and experience with civil, HVAC, E, I, A projects
- At least some experience with industrial, production installations, regulations
- Being able to work from business mindset (speed, costs, stakeholder management)
- Enjoy the technical content as well as getting your project done and organized. Feel comfortable behind your desk, in the meeting room and on the construction site
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- 10 years of work experience at minimum
