My client, a high-growth, global financial organisation, currently undergoing rapid expansion within their Dublin office, have an exciting new opening.
They have a brand new, urgent requirement for an experienced Lead Engineer with a genuine passion for developing as well as excellent interpersonal skills and a flair for mentoring and leading.
With software at the core of everything they do, this is a unique opportunity for an ambitious Lead Engineer to lead an elite team of high calibre engineers who are making a massive impact in their industry and have firmly established themselves as the number one supplier to a host of highly renowned, global firms.
The ideal Lead Engineer is someone comfortable with a variety of frontend, backend, middleware and large-scale distributed systems; a hands-on technologist who can provide architectural leadership in the engineering of the company's risk and pricing platforms.
This role will both involve people management, as well as implementing new engineering best practises and being hands-on coding.
Requirements
* Previous experience or at least an understanding of complex specialty insurance/reinsurance systems ESSENTIAL
* Minimum 3 years in a Lead role
* High proficiency programming in Python, C#, JavaScript or Java
* Strong understanding of engineering best practices
* Commercial experience implementing large scale distributed systems in the Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP)
* Cloud experience for building systems, using modern CI/CD practices with agile methodologies
* Experience with SQL and certifications with SQL desirable
* Experience using Ansible, Docker, Docker Swarm and Unix Scripting. Kubernetes extremely beneficial
* Strong passion for Automation
* Excellent communication skills and an expertise for explaining technical details to others in the company
* Computer Science Degree or similar preferred
* Flexible and adaptable
* Strong interest in machine learning and the AI industry
