We are seeking an experienced Data Centre Engineer to join the Enterprise Technology Services team located in our Galway office. You will be responsible for administering and monitoring operating systems, IT solutions, hardware and storages ensuring all equipment and solutions function efficiently.

What you will do

  • Systems administration role in the following disciplines - Microsoft, Linux and VMware.

  • Work with Dell Hardware Enclosures, Dell Blade Servers, iDRACS and remediate with Vendor to fix and order any needed spare parts and Debug issues.

  • Troubleshoot and support Microsoft Windows Server/2008/2012,2016 & 2019 including clustering.

  • Manage and deliver root cause assessments for complex technical issues.

  • Define workarounds for known errors, and drive improvements.

  • Works to SLAs and deadlines.

  • Creation of any needed documentation with excellent oral communication skill.

  • Troubleshoot and support VMWare vSphere Environment, and small Hyper-V Environment.

  • Maintain and support an Enterprise Virtual Environment Hosting Environment (circa 1000 Virtual Machines).

  • Knowledge in conducting performance analysis for both the ESX host and their guests in the areas of CPU, Memory and I/O utilization.

  • Modify base guest images for deployment within a Virtual Environment.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve ESXi issues by working with VMware Vendor support.

  • Experience working with SAN technologies, i.e., iSCSI

  • Understands the interdependency between Active Directory, DNS and DHCP.

  • Working knowledge of networks, VLAN’s, routeing and firewalls.

  • High-level working knowledge of PKI and certificate management.

  • Working Knowledge of SCCM, create and administer advertisements, programs, collections, and custom reports in SCCM.

  • Be able to leverage SCCM to provide security updates, vulnerability patches, hotfixes and other updates for server endpoints.

  • Perform general SCCM administration and troubleshooting.

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related discipline.

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position (Data Centre Engineer/Systems Engineer).

  • IT Certifications: VCP, MCSA or MCSE, and Azure or AWS Cloud certifications.

  • Working within a ticket-based environment.

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Analytical skills.

  • Ability to generate documentation and keep existing up to date.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritizing major tasks by overall impact to Project or Customer.

  • Self-Motivated, strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
