Our Evros Security Operations Centre (SOC) is expanding and we are looking for a Level 2 Cyber Security Analyst to join the team!
The Evros Security Operations Centre (SOC) is the information security team responsible for providing 24x7 capabilities to detect, analyse, and respond to cyber security incidents for our clients using a combination of leading technology solutions and a strong set of processes. The SOC staff work closely with the Cyber Incident Response team (CIRT) to ensure security issues are addressed quickly upon discovery.
The Level 2 SOC Analyst sits within Security Operations Centre and will be joining an exciting and rapidly growing part of the business. This role is perfect for someone who has experience as an analyst in a SOC environment.
We are looking for a Cyber Security Analyst Level 2 to perform the following duties
- In-depth investigation of the detected behaviours when an incident is escalated by the SOC level 1 analyst
- Provide recommendations or workarounds to the customer to reduce business impact
- Implement tuning and configuration changes related to SIEM and other security tools as necessary
- Ensure appropriate security incident management and threat response processes are followed
- Support and back-up L3/IR analysts through major incidents
- Assist and train junior team members in the use of security tools
- Develop and maintain documentation for security systems and procedures
- Lead and participate in the continuous improvement of the service (detection level, process, operational procedures, service efficiency, service reporting)
- Continuously assess current state of security monitoring and recommend changes for improvement
Technical skills
- In depth technical understanding of cyber threats, vulnerabilities and exploits
- Understanding of network devices & technology such as firewalls, IPS, network packet capture & analysis tools, routing
- Experience of SIEM technology, ideally Qradar or LogRhythm and incident analysis
Knowledge/Experience
- Degree in cyber security or demonstrated experience in the Cyber Security domain
- English : fluent spoken & written (mandatory)
- 2 years' experience in a related area e.g. Security Operations Centre, security analysis, incident response, security engineering etc
- Security certifications (Security+, CySA+, CISM etc) an advantage
- Strong verbal communication and collaboration skills including the ability to work with both technical and non-technical customers/peers to research and resolve problems
- Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, excellent analytical ability and the ability to consider and develop courses of action in short periods of time.
- Shows capability to break down problems into constituent parts, and multitask on several technical issues simultaneously
