Software Development Manager with hands on technical heritage ideally C# / .NET or Java would be desirable and proven skills in line management and Agile Software delivery for a cross functional Agile teams (Scrum or Kanban or Lean), required with skills in technical delivery management for high performance software teams, line management, agile facilitation activities and stakeholder management is required by tech giant in Dublin to lead and inspire Agile software delivery team of 6-8 people working on high volume / distributed systems .NET based systems.
15 month fixed term contract
As a Software Development Manager key skills / experience would include
Proven skills in effectively leading, line managing, motivating and inspiring a cross functional Agile team, consisting of multiple disciplines (Software Developers / Product Owner, Automated QA) with different seniority, emphasising a strong work ethic and professional attitude
Experience using agile methods for software delivery e.g Scrum / Kanban / Lean / TDD / CI/ CD/ Continuous Delivery and experience of acting as a servant leader and getting teams to be self-organising
Proven track record of delivering complex software projects ideally around complex web centric / transactional systems / or distributed systems
Strong technical heritage as Developer on complex systems ideally .NET but otherwise Java or Scala or high availability systems with multithreaded or distributed / high volume systems before moving into Agile Delivery
Experience of AWS / Cloud would be beneficial
Proven skills in stakeholder management and working closely with Product Owner
Previous experience of managing 3rd parties / vendors would be ideal.
Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, particularly with regard to technical risks, issues and constraints
Work well under time and environmental pressures
Ability to make the right technical decisions driven by a strong commercial understanding
Key responsibilities as an Software Development Manager would include
Being responsible line management, coaching and mentoring and play servant leader for a Dublin based high performance cross functional Agile team
Agile delivery / ownership of the technical deliverables as well as remove blockers to deliver complex software within a fast Agile product delivery environment
Support the Product Owners to define features / work to help define the technical path
Ensure delivery of roadmaps within a large technical function with multiple teams
Help evolve lean and agile processes in your team and support others
Constantly coach and mentor the team to improve the pace and evolve delivery practices
