One of the most interesting roles I have come across in ages - a client is in the process of developing a new med tech product. Without going into details, this product is both data heavy, and interacts with people without independent interaction. And it is wifi enabled. WCGW?!?!
Well that's why they need you. You are a IT security professional who is security focused at a visceral level and looks at everything in life from a "how secure is it?" perspective. This role requires that perspective, and a good technical understanding of software/hardware, in order to make sure that all aspects of this new product support the corporate product security framework We need you to bring your experience of doing this previously - ideally in a medtech or medical (possibly pharma?) environment to the table.
In order to be able to deliver this product successfully, you will need to be able to interact effectively with a large, diverse group of people, spread out geographically across the globe, from California to China! - experience in negotiating complicated corporate environments to deliver objectives effectively, would be highly desirable. You will need to get people on your side and on board with your agenda, to ensure that changes are made as and when necessary - you will also be dealing with a wide range of functions internaly in the organisation, some with a better understanding of infosec and its importance than others - so your communications skills, both written and spoken will need to be very high, as will a high degree of emotional intelligence.
So why are you interested, other than the satisfaction in solving the puzzle and making sure the security is solid? Well - the client is a world leader in the field of medtech. You can be using your skills to save lives. It is a good company to work for - one senior person, unprompted told me that they have a smile when they get to work. Their work is valuable and appreciated. There are pretty good benefits, but there's a better culture, and they have really looked after their people throughout the pandemic. They are also involved in trying to fight the virus in a number of ways. And you would be part of a great team.
