One of the first to provide a web-based solution, Flextime has recently started the next major transformation project to deliver a native cloud SaaS solution.
Embracing the best of Microsoft technologies and cloud platform services, the project team will leverage expert design to create a fully automated cloud application delivery platform in turn delivering an excellent application for our customers and their evolving needs.

The Role
This can be a fixed Contract period or a full-time role. This role will be central to the team and will be involved in the foundational steps of a transformational project to build a new Azure cloud platform and application architecture to deliver a market leading SaaS application.
This is a genuinely exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated, experienced cloud applications developer with very strong platform and architectural solution design know-how. You will make your mark on this project from inception to the first market launch.
You will take a lead design and developer role in small strategic team of developers and business analysts reporting directly to the Flextime CTO. Expect to spend 20% in design mode and 80% delivering working code at architecture and application features level. You will be expected to challenge and prototype design options against tight project time constraints. Automation will be a passion for you.
The Facts
Some design decisions are yet to be validated and tested and therefore some implementation decisions are still to be made. The first early iterations will deliver an Angular SPA front-end application communicating via secure APIs (HAL) to the back-end services including Scheduling, Service Bus and data stores (The platform is Azure PaaS; Azure SQL, App Services, Service Bus and Application Gateway). There is a business rules engine.
The solution architecture pattern follows the clean architecture model with emphasis on the isolation of concerns and will easily evolve to full native cloud implementation over time.
Must haves:
Excellent written and verbal English language skills
5+ years’ practical commercial experience in .NET using C# developing web applications
3+ years leading solution design and implementation
Up to date .Net Framework and .NET Core experience with most of the following: ASP, MVC, SPA, Web API, Entity Framework, Service Bus
Very strong Azure competencies delivering applications in Azure PaaS – secure, scalable and resilient saas solutions
Azure DevOps/CI/CD - Backlogs, Repos, Automation, Resource provisioning and release pipelines
Excellent and practical working knowledge and demonstrable understanding of software engineering best practices, including object-oriented, IOC/DI, services design patterns and cloud design considerations
Practical knowledge of SQL Server/RDMS to include database schema and query design
Professional exposure to agile development
Strong academic qualification in a STEM discipline or equivalent practical experience
Candidates with the following will have the advantage:
Relevant domain specific experience – time workforce management, complex business rule engines, SaaS
Certification - Modern solutions design, architecture experience/exposure especially cloud native design - Microsoft/Azure certification
RESTful design patterns
Working knowledge of client-side libraries such as Angular/React or other.
Automation - DevOps topics and technology (including Azure DevOps) Jenkins, Docker, Octopus Deploy
Provisioning and Deployment using ARM templates
Web Services (SOAP, XML Web Services, WSDL)
Mobile technologies such as Xamarin, iOS, Android
Connected Client patterns
