Responsibilities of the Cloud Solutions Architect role:
• Perform product architecture and design in support of new and existing products
• Create architectures and designs that:
• Enable frequent product increment delivery and release cycles
• Are highly scalable and performant
• Maximize business service reuse potential across products
• Maximize product cost in terms of Cloud services required to support architecture
• Ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility
• Determine strategies and design patterns for devolving monolithic applications into business-service centric microservice level designs
• Develop Product Architecture, Design, Integration and high-level product specification documents
• Determine and document meaningful business-oriented APIs
• Develop and present point-of-view on technical options to meet business requirements with consideration for business needs, cost, time, and technical (present/future)
• Work with Product Managers, Product Owners, Development Teams, Data Analysts to ensure the successful planning and production of application software releases
• Ensure the Development team has a clear vision of the product’s overarching technical direction and how that aligns to the Product Vision and Business Goals
• Provide recommendations and guidance around tools, process, architectural and design patterns that optimize the technical solution
• Stay abreast of industry technical trends and associated opportunities for product architecture and design optimization
• Provide continued technical design oversight, reviews and feedback as the product evolves
• Provide technical mentoring and coaching to development team members
• Support technical team hiring across products
Required Skills and Experience for the Cloud Solutions Architect:
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years Software Application Architecture experience
• Experience architecting solutions for Cloud-based products (Azure AWS, Google Cloud, other)
• Experience designing applications leveraging micro-service architecture
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical optimal solutions
• Experience across a wide range of languages, platforms, tools/environment, processes
• A technical mindset with great attention to detail
• High quality organizational and leadership skills
• Excellent interpersonal, facilitation and communication skills. Fluency in written and spoken English are required
Desirable Skills and Experience for the Cloud Solutions Architect:
• Deployment and monitoring of Products leveraging Azure Services, Kubernetes and Docker
• Oversight of CI/CD Pipelines in Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Octopus Deploy
