My client requires motivated and enthusiastic people with Linux or UNIX experience to join their growing team in Kerry. If successful, you will be part of an energetic team of engineers and administrators who are responsible for the servers and support tools which form a key part of the infrastructure which underpins the business.

Responsibilities of the Linux System Role:
• Operating system engineering (Linux)
• System performance assessment and OS tuning Scripting (bash, ksh, nsh, python, perl)
• Integrate new technologies into environment working directly with the Architecture teams
• Produce and maintain internal knowledgebase articles
• Service application and infrastructure requests
• RPM based Linux distributions
• RAC
• PowerPath, Multipath, kickstart, cobbler
• Provide expertise during critical issue response
• On-call and out of hours support on rotation
• A valid passport and ability to travel to the USA
Required Skills and Experience for the Linux System Role:
• Good communicator (global work so strong written and verbal skills are an absolute requirement)
• Have experience in a similar position (2+ years)
• Solid understanding of Linux and/or UNIX operating systems
• Proven troubleshooting skills and analytical mind set
• Team orientated and happy to reach out for assistance or assist others
• Experience with enterprise storage (EMC) and networking (Cisco)
• Experience training/mentoring junior staff advantageous
• Automation/scripting experience is highly desirable
• Experience supporting Oracle RAC highly desirable
