Senior Data Engineer – Google Cloud
We have a great opportunity for a Senior Data Engineer to join a growing international tech company. A global leader in their domain, you will be joining at the very start of migrating the data warehouse to the cloud and will have an opportunity to influence the direction and architecture of the warehouse. You will need to be passionate about data with a strong interest in keeping up to date with the latest cloud technologies and concepts in data warehousing.

Responsibilities for the Data Engineer Role:
• Building pipelines and dataflows to load data from streaming and batch sources into data lake/data warehouse
• Integrating with various third-party systems to load data into our data environment
• Building aggregations and views within data warehouse
• Implementing policies and procedures within the data warehouse environment
• Ensuring stability, integrity, accuracy, timeliness and usability of the data in the data warehouse
• Working with the rest of the data team to migrate from using on-premise data warehouse to a cloud-based solution, including mentoring and setting best practice for the rest of the team
• You will be engaging directly with business stakeholders (marketing, sales, finance etc.) to understand their business objectives
Required Skills and Experience for the Data Engineer Role:
• 5 years’ experience as a Data Engineer / Data Warehouse Developer
• Experience working with cloud-based data warehouse e.g. BigQuery, Azure
• Extensive experience with Python
• Familiarity with Google Cloud, in particular Dataflow, PubSub
• Experience working with large data sets in real time, streaming environments
• Experience working with high volume e-commerce systems
Desirable Skills and Experience for the Data Engineer Role:
• Experience with Reporting tools such as Looker, PowerBI or Data Studio
• Apache Airflow and/or Apache Bea
• SQL Server / SSIS experience
• Knowledge of advanced analytics including Machine Learning
• Experience of 3rd party analytics such as Google Analytics 360, Firebase etc.
• Working with Google/Facebook/Bing Ads including bid optimisation
