About the Job:
* Participate in development activities including solution design and review, development, unit testing, and code review
* Collaborate with the project team
* Participate in team and project meetings
* Adhere to Scrum methodology and team standards
About the Ideal Candidate:
* Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Science, Engineering, or Mathematics or equivalent work experience
* A minimum of one years experience in a software development role
* Able to take ownership of assigned tasks and meet responsibilities with minimal supervision. A self-starter, with a strong work ethic and a success-based attitude
* Excellent troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes and testing
* Computer science fundamentals in object-oriented design
* Proficient in at least one modern programming language such as Java or C#
* Detailed-oriented with strong observational and analytical skills
* Passionate about learning new technologies and systems
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Flexible and team-oriented, with good interpersonal skills and the ability to balance multiple tasks
Valued Knowledge / Skills:
* Java experience and/or experience with Object Oriented design/programming
* Proficient in scripting languages, Python, and build tools such as ANT or Maven
* Familiar with Unix/Linux Operating Systems
* Experience with Progress OpenEdge
* Experience in a Support or DevOps role
* Familiar with database concepts and operations
* Experience working in an Agile or Scrum team
* Experience working in a globally dispersed team
* Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence and Bamboo)
* Experience with environment configuration management and deployment tools such as Docker, Chef, Puppet, and virtualization
