Development Team Lead – Full stack
The Role
My client is an international software start up specialising in ad tech. They are currently seeking a highly skilled and talented Development Team Lead (Full stack) to join their dedicated development team in Dublin. The ideal candidate will have a passion for open source software and enjoy working in a fast paced, challenging but rewarding environment.
Responsibilities of the Development Team Lead Role:
• Development of modular, testable and scalable software components for core platform and Web services/APIs
• Research and development of new and emerging technologies
• Lead and mentor a team of developers for the development and delivery of quality software
• Code optimisation for performance and scalability.
• Ensure standards and good design principles are adhered to by all members of the team
• Run regular code reviews with the team to validate software design and good practices as well as to promote career development in new technologies and trends.
• Provide feedback to management on both a regular and adhoc basis
• Lead initiatives for training and knowledge development
• Participate in regular code reviews and team knowledge sharing activities
• Hold 1-to-1 meetings with team members on a regular basis
• Conduct annual reviews and appraisals
• Participate in hiring process

Required Skills and Experience for the Development Team Lead Role:
• BS/MS in Computer Science/related technical discipline or equivalent experience
• 2+ years professional experience leading an engineering team
• Strong knowledge and practice of Object-Oriented Design patterns and principles
• 6+ years object -oriented PHP (5.6 / 7+) development experience
• High competency of HTML, CSS, Javascript and general web standards
• Thorough understanding of the HTTP protocol and RESTful architectures
• Experience with caching (APC, Memcache)
• Solid foundation in SQL databases and design
• Experience to Agile methodologies and related management tools
• Appreciation of TDD, Pair-Programming and Continuous Integration and deployment
• Comfortable working in Unix/Linux environments
• Experience using Git/GitHub and related workflows in a distributed team environment
• Experience with Golang & Python would be advantageous
