Our client, who has the best views from their office windows, and is a seriously cool place to work with all kinds of nice perks, is looking for a good hadoop engineer. They've been working with their own data for years, but after a recent merger the BI dept is getting to grips with a whole new level of data interaction, new data lakes, (some swamps perhaps!?) and new platforms and tools with which to interact with it. Looking for a strong engineer to come on board for an intial 6 month contract (strong possiblity of extension) to help to develop the capabilities and the deliverables from the BI team.
You will be working in a tightly integrated team, who are willing and eager to learn new things. They have a great location, real employee centric perks such as subsidised canteen ( and yes, the food is *really* good, no need to cook in the evenings!) dry cleaning pick up, yoga on site etc and, depending on where you choose to live, a short commute. It takes one of the guys longer to get from the 3rd floor to his car, than to drive home afterwards! Great quality of life on the Wild Atlantic Way - Golf courses, beachs, forests, all within throwing distance, not to mention an intl airport on your doorstep. Right beside one of Ireland's most vibrant cities, for the nicer things in life!
Work wise, you will be part of developing something new and real. They have 6/7 different data technologies interfacing with their data lake and training will be available for those you don't have. To be considered you will have been working with big data on Hadoop for at least 3 years, you will know how to query it with Hive and Impala, strong data integration, ETL, replication, and modelling. If you have some scala on spark, great! If not, there is the chance for some training in these technologies over the contract. Call now!
