Your responsibilities
Your mission as a service delivery engineer is to actively participate in our Mission Critical Networks (MCN) projects in Ireland. You will join the team in charge of implementing new solutions and you will provide local technical support once a project has been transferred into the operation stage. In this role, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
• Create and track/report/close trouble tickets opened during testing or maintenance and interface with the customer to collect all information required to resolve issues / collect traces on site if necessary
• Closely work with other Kapsch CarrierCom teams, including Product Support and R&D specialist engineers and external suppliers (OEM) to ensure that tickets are resolved within the shortest possible timeframe and at least within the delay defined in the support contract
• Communicate progress and high/low level technical design and/or technical solutions to the customer
• Provide regular status reports internally and to the customer
• Anticipate customer escalation and keep management informed about the situation being at risk
• Participate in regular customer meetings as Kapsch CarrierCom technical representative and participate in 24/7 support rotation
Depending on potential introduction, migration or upgrade programs, additional tasks could also be part of your scope of work:
• Review and enrich engineering designs and documentation
• Use GSM-R Core / NSS and Access expertise to deliver and support all related integration and acceptance tasks
• Coordinate I&A activities for projects with involvement of different departments and teams:
- creation, definition and review of (SD) test plans with the customer
- execution of test cases with the customer or independent engineers at the customer location
Your profile
• Degree or higher diploma in electronics / telecommunication / engineering / computer science
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience along with previous end-to-end integration and/or technical support experience in GSM and/or wireless telecom technology
• Strong expertise in at least one of the BSS, OAM or Core domains and solid understanding of end-to-end wireless network products and protocols
• Fully clean driving license and willingness to travel (Ireland and overseas)
• Well-organized, structured and solution-oriented personality with attention to details and strong communication skills
• Strong technical acumen with excellent analytical skills
