Role: Network Optical Engineer

Rate: €300-€450 per day

We are working closely with a world leading Multinational whose technology has changed the world in many ways over. There Current cloud offering is one of the largest and most technically advanced in the world and they continue to innovate and stay ahead of their competitors.

We are about to start a new project and are looking for a team of Optical Engineers for a Network refit project. We are looking for talented Network Engineers with a strong understanding of Optics for the project.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

* Has a successful track record of troubleshooting complex network problems and delivering innovative solutions. The desire and ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment is essential.
* A Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline or equivalent experience
* 3+ years industry experience in a similar environment
* In-depth knowledge of and experience with major DWDM platforms
* Knowledge of SNMP, TL1, XML-based or equivalent management protocols
* Experience with optical planning and modelling tools
* Experience with network wide upgrades and operational support of large DWDM networks
* Ability to quickly learn existing processes and work with tooling

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Ability to script/program in a language (Python, Perl, C or Shell Scripting).
* Working knowledge of IP networking fundamentals
* Good understanding of Linux / Unix and Background in automation
* Strong Optical experience is important to be effective in the role.
