Senior QA Automation Engineer - Sligo
GemPool are working with a leading tech company in the retail and e-Commerce domain. This organisation consists of 2000 employees, headquartered in California but have recently opened up a european development centre in the West of Ireland.
Role:
In this job you will create and maintain test automation framework with an emphasis on clean, reusable code. You will also automate test cases.
Your job will require you to review and document new projects and existing application code. You will get the opportunity to work with development teams to verify application functionality, usability, performance and scalability. You will assist application owners with regression testing, load testing, script testing, user acceptance testing and test architecture support.
Another aspect of this job is to develop and maintain reusable code libraries to help build streamlined and efficient development/testing processes. You will evaluate and analyze automation metrics, providing feedback to developers, and system architects. You will get to assist with the setup and maintenance of the teams test environment. You should be able to provide accurate time estimates of your work. You will also perform manual tests as needed.
Requirements:
If you have a minimum of 5+ years recent software development or quality assurance experience and a solid understanding of Object Oriented Programming and design patterns then this job could be for you.
If you have strong Java SE skills, preferably through release 1.8 and also have experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium Web Driver, JMeter, Fit/FitNesse, SOAPUI, Watir, or similar.
If you have a familiarity with common data structures, algorithms and collections, experience using IDEs such as Eclipse or IntelliJ, building unit tests using JUnit and TestNG, using source control systems like SVN, CVS, GIT, Solid SQL ability, experience with Maven or Gradle and have also used Linux then this would be a plus!
